About Us
The Blackwater Valley Methodist Circuit was created in 2025 when the Hants-Surrey Border Circuit and the Berkshire Surrey Borders Circuit merged, bringing together 19 churches with long histories across the Hampshire-Surrey-Berkshire borders. Its roots go back to the mid-19th century Aldershot-Farnborough-Camberley Methodist Circuit, which grew as Aldershot expanded and nearby towns developed.
In 2012, the Aldershot area churches joined with the Farnham & Alton Circuit to form the Hants-Surrey Border Circuit, while the Berkshire Surrey Borders Circuit continued to serve churches across Bracknell Forest and Wokingham Borough. The creation of the Blackwater Valley Methodist Circuit brought these historic circuits together, continuing a legacy of shared ministry, pastoral care, and community outreach across the region, while providing a platform for the churches to worship, collaborate, and engage with their communities in ways that reflect their enduring Methodist heritage.
